Conduct Policy
This Conduct Policy sets the standards of behavior for everyone on Baela — Providers and Clients alike. It is incorporated into, and forms part of, the Baela Terms of Service, Provider Agreement, and Cancellation Policy. Safety comes before any fee.
1. Our Standards
Everyone on Baela agrees to act with respect, professionalism, honesty, and care for the safety of others. Appointments often happen one-on-one, sometimes in a home, so trust and good conduct are non-negotiable — on both sides.
2. Prohibited Conduct
The following are not allowed, by Providers or Clients:
- Harassment, threats, intimidation, bullying, or abusive language.
- Discrimination or harassment based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
- Violence or any threat of violence.
- Sexual harassment, sexual advances, or any non-consensual physical contact. Sexual services are strictly prohibited.
- Illegal activity, including illegal drugs or weapons brought to an appointment.
- Fraud, deception, identity misrepresentation, or circumventing the platform's payments.
- Recording or photographing another person without their consent.
- Creating unsafe, unsanitary, or hazardous conditions.
- Retaliating against anyone for reporting a concern in good faith.
3. Safety and the Right to End a Session
Either a Provider or a Client may end an appointment early if they feel unsafe or if the other person violates this Policy. The in-app safety tools — including a one-tap SOS that calls 911 and alerts a trusted contact — are there to help in an emergency; they are not a guarantee of safety, and you should contact 911 directly in an emergency.
When a session is ended for a genuine safety or conduct reason, Baela reviews the situation, and any charge, refund, or penalty is decided based on that review rather than the standard cancellation windows. Ending a session for a genuine safety or conduct reason will not, by itself, trigger a cancellation or no-show fee against the person who ended it.
4. Reporting
If something goes wrong, report it to Baela at support@baela.app or through the in-app support tools, as soon as you safely can. We investigate reports in good faith, handle them as confidentially as we reasonably can, and do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who reports a concern honestly. Knowingly false reports are themselves a violation of this Policy.
5. Enforcement
Baela enforces this Policy across the platform. Depending on severity, consequences may include a warning, removal of content, suspension, loss of standing or visibility, or permanent removal from Baela. Serious violations — including violence or threats, sexual misconduct, or fraud — may result in immediate, permanent, platform-wide removal. Records of violations persist and may inform future decisions, and a removed person may not return under a new account.
6. Declining Bookings
Providers run independent businesses and may accept or decline any booking for legitimate business reasons. Providers may not decline or refuse service based on a characteristic protected by anti-discrimination law, and must comply with all applicable anti-discrimination requirements.
7. Changes and Contact
Baela may update this Policy from time to time and will provide notice as required. Questions or reports: support@baela.app.
